Holistic Medical Center in Perez Zeledon

Today while driving around P.Z. searching for a Massage therapist for my wife, I found a Holistic doctor referred to me by the massage therapist Marcela Rojas Martinez in San Isidro de General P.Z. Finding a Holistic doctor seemed very unusual to me I have always thought of this town as being more of a farm town and not very up as far as new age type things like holistic medicine. I found a great masseuse for my wife and a possible new family DR. William Cruz Umaña

I had spoken to Marcela’s husband on the phone earlier in the day after taking down the phone number from a sign near the supermarket I usually shop at in Villa Ligea. We made an appointment for 5:00 in the afternoon this was the last one for the day, but before Marcela would give her a massage she needed to have my wife cleared by the doctor.This seemed odd to see a doctor just get a massage I figured this had to be a scam, but this was because my wife had surgery about five years ago on her lower back and there is a risk for the masseuse. This was actually a good thing for two reasons first after a thorough exam by Dr. Umaña he said it would not be a good idea for a massage right now because all of the tissue that was causing the pain was inflamed and need time to heal before the massage. A massage now could cause further injury and irritation to the already aggravated muscles in her lower back. This also gave us the opportunity to see firsthand what a natural doctor with proper training was capable of, and in my opinion he was well trained in at the Universidad Paris XIII Francia-UCR as stated on his business card, because the holistic medicine was much more effective on the swelling and pain than the muscle relaxer and Motrin she had taken earlier in the day.

This was a very good experience for my wife and I, and I am sure we will be back to see Dr. Umaña in the future about all of our family medical need. As for Marcela I would recommend her to anyone looking for a relaxing massage she is very good at her job, and takes time to listen to her clients to make sure the massage is exactly what they need.
